As a Senior Product Designer at Bench Accounting, I focus on designing both internal and customer-facing products. My role emphasizes service design, where I utilize service blueprints to map out internal workflows, identify pain points, and bridge the gap between internal processes and the customer experience. I collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align the needs of the Bench team with customer expectations, ensuring seamless operations. Additionally, I work alongside engineering to ensure designs are feasible, well-scoped, and effectively implemented to meet project objectives.

As a Product Designer, I participate in product strategy discussions and work closely with the product team to determine the upcoming work for the roadmap. I collaborate with the Product Manager on initiatives that are on our team’s roadmap, where I’m given the problem space and a set of data. We determine the objectives and I take the plan, start discovery, and prepare for delivery. I also work with the engineering team to ensure my designs are feasible and well-scoped for a sprint’s worth of work. In addition to the day-to-day work, I also help with managing and mentoring interns whenever we take on practicum students.

Senior Interactive Designer
Unbounce — Vancouver, BC, Canada
I undertook more senior responsibilities in addition to my previous role. I was accountable for my projects as a design lead for their entire lifecycle from conception to completion. I was also responsible for presenting each stage to stakeholders and the team with a rationale for my design decisions. Using design thinking as a guiding principle, I found opportunities to introduce it to influence the process of collaborative projects.
